Molton toppers and mattress protectors are not the most important parts of a bed, but they are often essential.
If possible, these should also be made of ecological natural materials. The Baumberger program is well-rounded and thus includes appropriate accessories.
A well-equipped bed should also include mattress protectors. It would be saving at the wrong end, because the durability of the mattress sometimes depends heavily on the use of a protector.
The friction between the slatted frame and the mattress is often underestimated. A very elastic latex mattress would be fully exposed to the edges of the slatted frame. This could well damage the latex core in the long run.
Not every bed system requires a protector. However, it is generally useful for higher body weight. Our protectors are made of organic linen.
Molton pads serve primarily as a hygienic protection on the mattress. The climatization of a bed can be improved by the use of the molton overlay (in comparison with the underbed) only hardly. Baumberger molton overlays are not waterproof, that is, they do not have a layer of polypropylene or styrene rubber.
Linen protector as well as the molton overlay are GOTS certified from fiber production to the final product.

Mattress protector
This overlay made of extra thick Kalmuk is designed to protect the mattress. Waterproof plastic coatings do not fit into the Baumberger philosophy. The Kalmuk fabric is very absorbent, so it offers certain protection against wetness, but it is not waterproof, so it is equally permeable to air.
This overlay is also suitable as a washable mattress protector under the mattress. Before use, the molleton topper should be washed first to make it even more dense and moisture-absorbent.

Linen protector
Mattress protector
Since linen fibers have no natural crimp, they can be compressed tightly. The so-called “needling” creates a tight felt-like material. Ideally suited as a mattress protector, which is absolutely breathable despite the relative density. The linen protector is ideally suited for all all-natural latex mattresses, which, according to experience, transport the absorbed moisture downwards. The linen protector quickly and reliably transports this moisture to the room air.
The protector is quilted on both sides with durable single jersey and edged with cotton tape. For fastening to the slatted frame are sewn tapes on the corners.
